Prepare For A Successful Day

We can safely say that no one from the days of old suffered from the indulgence of instant gratification. But because we do have things at our fingertips we need to adapt. So here are some tips on how to maximize your time to help you focus and prepare for a successful day.

Prepare For A Successful Day With These Five Steps

1. Focus On One Thing At A Time

While the days of old seemed quieter I imagine there were still a hundred things to do. However, do you know what they had, that we don’t – the ability to focus on one thing.

Multitasking is bad. Let me say that again in case you missed it – Multitasking is BAD! Focusing on a single task at a time is much more productive. It takes 20 minutes to “get into the zone” and multitasking robs you of that. So don’t be robbed. Make sure you focus on one task at a time.

2. Planning Ahead Is A Key Part Of A Successful Day

During your bedtime routine build a mindset that prepares you for the next day. Choose your outfit. Then lay it out so that you can get up and dressed without having to think about it.

Believe me, this is a major time saver! Especially if you’re like me and sometimes just cannot decide what to wear. Naturally, this applies mostly to women but it can also save men a few minutes. It’s not about the clothes, though, it’s about the mindset.

By planning ahead you cut out indecision and start your day on a positive productive foot. So, plan ahead!

3. Set Achievable Goals

Now, this one is important, remember I said achievable!

Know what you need to do and set goals that you can achieve that day. Again, don’t multitask.

First, get up and dressed, then think breakfast and breakfast only. Do not pick up that phone or any distractions during breakfast.

Then the next task – see the pattern? I repeat, focus on only ONE thing at a time.

Try it. You won’t be disappointed with what you achieve.

4. Take Time for a Coffee During The Day

Give yourself breaks during the day. Remember, a successful day is not packed from beginning to end with you running around like a headless chicken.

Know your limits and don’t push them all the time. Stop for a coffee and disengage. Like breakfast time – only focus on having coffee and doing nothing other than having coffee.

Success in your day relies on your performance. Guess what your performance relies on? No, it’s not the number of things you try to crazily balance with your great multitasking skills.

It’s your reliability, consistency, and focus. That all stems from the innovation and creativity that you allow your brain to work on when you take a break!

Re-centre and Relax!

Do yourself a favor. Re-center and relax. Even if it’s just five minutes, make time for a coffee.

5. Leave it All Behind

One of the best ways to prepare for a successful day is to switch off your brain!

So at the end of the day, wrap up and unplug mentally. When you don’t unplug don’t be surprised if thoughts of the day keep you awake at night. You need your sleep so leave the day behind!

Instead, use your evening time to focus on one last thing, the most important thing – your family, and if you don’t have one yet – yourself. Read a book, take a bath, relax, and most importantly switch off!

So, start tonight and prepare for a successful day tomorrow!
