3 Ways To Use Italian Pasta Sauce

This sauce is easy to make from scratch and you can also use it on a pizza base before adding toppings or in mince to add a gorgeous flavor. Freezer meals are serious time savers.

1. Add it to mince to add a gorgeous flavor

I make a very simple mince with fried onions, a little garlic, some coriander, and then I add a portion of the Italian pasta sauce and let it simmer and it makes the most divine mince!

2. Use it on a pizza base before adding toppings

If you love homemade pizza then you should try our two-ingredient gluten-free pizza dough. It makes the most delicious pizza base and we use the Italian past sauce to add delicious flavor to our pizzas.

3. Pour it over pasta to make the best Italian Pasta ever!

It really is divine – just cook up some gluten-free pasta, then top it with this sauce and some cheese and enjoy!

Ingredients Needed For The Sauce

So the other great thing about this recipe is that you only need five ingredients for the sauce – tomatoes, garlic, fresh basil, salt, and sugar.

How To Cook The Sauce

The cooking process is also simple so that makes this pasta sauce recipe a keeper! Fry the garlic for two minutes, add the liquidized tomatoes, the chopped basil, and the salt, and then let it simmer into a rich flavorful sauce. Before taking it off add the sugar and let it cook for another 10 minutes. Sugar cuts the acidity and adds something amazing to the sauce.

How To Freeze

The portions you’ll need will depend on your family. So choose portions sizes that will work for you and then freeze them in freezer bags or containers. Because it can freeze safely for weeks it really is a great make-ahead meal option.
